On this tour, we escape the city and head north to the mountains and the oak-lined streets of Stellenbosch. This picturesque town with its many historic building is where Pinotage was created. On the Winelands Escape, we visit 3 wine estates that offer different pairings to compliment their wines.
We collect you at your hotel and travel north in an air-conditioned van to the historic town of Stellenbosch. Situated on the Eerste River and at the foot of the Stellenbosch mountain is the Eikestad, named after all the oak trees lined streets. Here we stroll along the oak-lined streets taking in the architecture of this university town. Our first wine stop is Lanzerac Wine Estate to sample South Africa’s signature wine Pinotage.
